Create ringtone from any music file, using iTunes.
Here's how:
- Open iTunes
- Browse to and select the song you want to extract a part from to use as ringtone
- Click Advanced
- Create Apple Lossless Version
- Right Click the newly created file and choose Get Info
- Click the Options Tab
- Check and set Start Time
- Check and set Stop Time (max 40 secs.)
- Click Apply ⁃ Make sure the song indeed only plays the selected part
- Right-click the excerpt and Open in Finder
- Change the extension from .m4a to .m4r (click use .m4r when prompted)
- In iTunes, delete the excerpt - remove but keep file!
- Double click the file in Finder to open it
- In iTunes, the file is now a ringtone and is located in Ringtones
You're all set!
